A celebrity football match earlier this month has raised £4,400 for Rosemere Cancer Foundation and Len Johnrose Trust.
AdvertisementOn Sunday 8 May, a team of Coronation Street, Emmerdale and Hollyoaks stars took on former footballers at a charity match at Chorley FC’s Victory Park. In the end The TV All Stars won the match by 7-2, with Rosemere Legends accepting defeat.
The match had over 400 spectators to create a lively atmosphere with an advantage of good weather in the afternoon.
The proceeds from the tickets went towards research into Motor Neurone Disease (MND) and to help former pro footballer Len Johnrose and his family as he battles the disease.
Dan Hill, chief officer of Rosemere Cancer Foundation, said: “I would like to thank everyone involved in the match – the organisers, sponsors, players, officials, stewards, special guests and spectators – for making it a great afternoon of family entertainment.
“It couldn’t have gone any better as even the weather was on side.”
