Residents are invited to view the latest for the South Ribble Extra Care scheme at a drop-in event.
AdvertisementOn Tuesday, 12th April at the Civic Centre in Leyland there will be a drop-in event for residents from 4:30pm to 6:30pm for local residents.
The Extra Care scheme is proposed for South Ribble on West Paddock in Leyland and it will support independent living by providing housing and support services.

This is the second stage of consultation with the initial plans already having been consulted on in October 2021 and the revised plans can be viewed on the day.
The scheme architects – Norr Consultants – and South Ribble Borough Council staff will be on hand to discuss the proposals and answer any questions.
South Ribble has an ageing population. Life expectancy in South Ribble is 80.1 years for men and 83.4 years for women. South Ribble Borough Council is committed to providing affordable housing for this ageing population.
South Ribble Borough Council will develop, own and manage the scheme that will offer affordable housing that can accommodate care and support services for an older population that allows residents to maintain independent living. In addition to housing, the scheme will have an on-site health and support services.
Councillor Paul Foster Leader of South Ribble Borough Council said: “We are very pleased to see this exciting project moving to the next stage. It is the first Extra Care facility for South Ribble and will offer residents the opportunity to enjoy living independently for longer.
“I encourage everyone to come along to take a look at the latest plans and have their say on the development.”

The development will be on West Paddock in Leyland, a site in Council ownership that offers the best option in the borough of the right size and location. It is on the site of the former bleach works. The development is located on the edge of the town centre and close to health care, leisure & retail facilities and transport connections.
The idea to provide an Extra Care facility was approved by the Council in January 2020 with Norr Consultants (architects) appointed to develop the scheme.
