The fountain in Miller Park has been switched back on after being out of action since before the pandemic.
Preston’s Instagram community was quick to spot the repair and begin posting images of the much-loved fountain.
Speaking to the Lancashire Post, Adrian Robinson, Interim Director of Customer Services at Preston City Council, explained that flooding had caused serious damage to the electrical mechanisms in the fountain.
Although the pandemic delayed the iconic structure being fixed, it will now be ready in time for this year’s Easter egg rolling event.

The fountain previously underwent maintenance work in 2018, when it was cleaned out, a new pump installed and replacement lights added.
