Preston Town Hall Union flag at half-mast for councillor John Browne

Today marks the funeral of Councillor John Browne.

Councillor Browne, who was described as a a kind man who was always laughing, sadly passed away at the age of 71 last month.

He was the longest sitting member of Preston City Council, having served Brookfield since 1983.

In a long and distinguished career, John held roles including Chair of Planning and Chair of Licensing, two key committees.

Preston City Council have shared that they are flying the Union Flag at half mast today in honour of the much loved councillor.
