A Preston entrepreneur has been recognised for her work with the Global Youth Parliament.
AdvertisementJodie Marie Rigby was nominated over a year ago to be the United Kingdom Country Coordinator for the Global youth Parliament, after attending a leadership conference in the Maldives in 2021. She is now head of the Youth Parliament in the UK.
After travelling to Nepal in November 2021 with the Parliament, the Vice President of Nepal Nanda Kishor Pun, awarded her with a Global Youth Leadership award.

This year Jodie will be travelling to Bangkok to represent the UK and meet coordinators from other countries around the world.
They will meet in the United Nations Hall in the city and Jodie will receive a Global Youth Leadership award for 2022.
The Youth Parliament’s goal is to inspire young people aged 16-35 to become entrepreneurs and better leaders.

73 countries have youth parliaments and they bring together citizens to meet for the annual Global Youth Parliament conference once a year.
Jodie said: “I look forward to representing my country in Bangkok on the international stage and I hope to inspire youths to join the Parliament as future leaders.”
