An update on the Energy Council Tax Rebate has been given by Preston City Council.

The council teams have been working hard to verify the bank account details of those eligible and get the correct processes put in place.

Residents have no need to contact the council if they are in Band A-D and pay by direct debit, payments will be made automatically from the end of April.

People who are in Band A-D but don’t pay via direct debit, the process on how to apply is almost ready to be released.

There will also be a discretionary fund for people not eligible (those on low incomes in Band E-H) and that process is almost ready too.

More updates will be released soon and there is information available on the City Council website.
