Brian Coulton

The family and friends of a much-loved Preston man who recently died have launched a fundraiser to pay for the funeral costs.

Brian Coulton was a well-known figure around Preston, a loving father to Lauren, grandad to Kyle and a beloved brother of Sharon and Kevin.

An avid Liverpool fan, Brian was the assistant manager of the Stanley Arms and the Eagle and Child in Leyland before working in the motor industry with his best friend, Ben Cooper-Abbs.

Ben said: “Brian was extremely well-liked by his friends, colleagues and everyone he met in all walks of life.

“He was my best friend of 25 years. At this time, things are extremely difficult for his family, and the financial burden of covering funeral costs is something we can take off them.

“We all loved Brian – he always had a smile, a kind word and a shoulder to lean on. Let’s dig deep and give him the best send off we possibly can to celebrate an amazing life.”

Described as a ‘larger than life’ character who loved his friends, family, football, music and reading, Brian was also a talented cook.

He first tried his signature dish, chicken xacutti, on holiday in Goa.
