Nine-year-old Emily McNicholas has been making wristbands to sell at her school to raise funds for those affected by the conflict in Ukraine.
Tarleton-based Emily attends New Longton All Saints Primary, and the money raised will be donated to the Disasters Emergency Committee’s Ukraine appeal.
Mum Anna Burkinshaw said: “Having talked about events in Ukraine at home and the unfolding humanitarian crisis Emily was determined to do something positive to help those in need.
“Emily decided to use her love of crafts to create wristbands and key rings for her friends and teachers at school. With the support of her headteacher at New Longton All Saints primary school, and the generosity of her peers she has so far raised over £100.
“We could not be prouder of Emily, she is a kind, considerate and thoughtful girl who goes out of her way to help others and we are so proud of her innovation and determination.
“She is also a fantastic big sister to her brother Oscar, who has been chief model and promoter of the wristbands at school!”
