Rosemere Cancer Foundation is searching for families and friends to join a walk across Morecambe Bay with the Queen’s Guide to the Sands.
AdvertisementRegistration is now open for the 2022 Cross Bay Walk, where, on Sunday 5 June, attendees will celebrate the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee Big Lunch.
The walk, sponsored by Darwen-based commercial printing company Empine Group Ltd, sets out from Arnside Pier to navigate seven to eight miles across the bay to Grange.

Rosemere’s chief officer, Dan Hill, said: “We have been given Sunday 5 June as the date for our annual fundraising Cross Bay Walk.
“It’s a special time in the history of our country, and what could make it more memorable than taking on this iconic walk with the people who mean the most to us in the presence of the Queen’s Guide to the Sands, Michael Wilson?
“We are due to set out at 9 to 10 am, so it should be finished in time for lunch – a celebration picnic perhaps!”

The walk occurs on the final day of the four-day Platinum Jubilee Bank Holiday and the day of the Big Lunch.
Entry costs £15 for adults and £10 for children aged between eight and 16.
As the sands can be wet and rocky in places, the walk is not suitable for small children, pushchairs, wheelchairs or those with limited mobility, although dogs are welcome.
