Preston architect firm Cassidy and Ashton appoints new assistant

A local architect firm has hired an assistant with skills in the commercial, hospitality and residential sectors.

Preston architectural, planning and building surveying practice Cassidy + Ashton has strengthened its architecture and design team with the appointment of David Rivers as an architectural assistant.

David joins the practice from C4 Projects in Warrington and is based at Cassidy + Ashton’s Preston office, supporting the architecture and design team and working on residential and commercial design projects.

Alistair Baines, chairman of Cassidy + Ashton, said: “David is a strong architecture and design professional, and we are delighted to welcome him to our team.

“He will strengthen our expertise and client services within this discipline, helping to ensure we deliver thoughtfully-designed and more sustainable spaces for people to live and work and continually improve the wellbeing of our local communities.”

David has experience spanning a range of projects, including new build warehouses, hospitality venues and restaurants, and residential and mixed-use accommodation.

David said: “Cassidy + Ashton offers a greater scope of work across many sectors and locations.

“I have quickly settled into the friendly team and am already working on some exciting projects, including a residential development in Preston and a warehouse development in Ellesmere Port.

“There will be many opportunities for me to extend my architectural skills and gain valuable experience at Cassidy + Ashton – I look forward to progressing my career in such a well-known and well-respected practice.”

David has developed a niche working on luxury residential dwellings – most recently on a luxury residential complex in Cheshire.

With an honours degree in interior architecture and a Master’s in architecture, David aspires to become a chartered architect and has a keen awareness of sustainable design.
