Four musical events across Preston to raise money for Ukraine

Peta Allingham has successfully organised musical events across Preston in different venues to raise money for those fleeing conflict in Ukraine.

The events will take place between this evening (Friday 11 March) and Sunday (13 March).

The three charities which will benefit are:

  • The British Red Cross
  • CAFOD (Catholic Agency for Overseas Development)
  • International Aid Trust

Tonight’s event will take place between 8-10pm at The Wellington.

Two events will be held tomorrow (Saturday 12 March) in two separate venues.

At Central Methodist Church, there will be an event held between 8-11pm.

There will also be another event at Ashton Bowling Club.

This event will take place between 7.30-11pm.

This was the first event which was organised

The final event will take place on Sunday 13 March.

It will be held at Preston Playhouse.

The event will start at 7.30pm and finish at 11pm.

There is free parking in the car park opposite the Playhouse for people attending.

Peta Allingham, organiser of the events, said: “Local performers in and around Preston are putting on a showcase of talent this weekend to raise urgently needed funds for the fleeing refugees from Ukraine.

“There are many musical styles and venues have offered their services and talents for free.

“Charities connected with the Disasters Emergency Committee will be in attendance to collect all your lovely donations so that they all go directly to the cause. We need the people of Preston to come out and support them.

“There are no entrance fees – everything is via donation.  Some venues may even have cakes!”
