A former takeaway van employee described as a ‘dream worker’ has started a new job at an Ashton-on-Ribble sandwich shop.
Jess Smith, who previously worked at The Green Frog in Mariners Way by Preston Docks, now runs Westwood’s, a sandwich bar next to Declan’s Barbershop in Fylde Road, across from Just Citroen Preston.
Westwood’s, located at 257 Fylde Road, is open from 8am until 2pm and serves full English breakfasts, cold sandwiches, toasties, jacket potatoes, soups, pies and other items.

Jess said: “It is the cleanest sandwich shop in Preston, without a doubt.
“We sell good quality food. I’m trying to get it busy – at the minute, it’s a great success.”
The shop reopened on 14 March, having closed 12 months ago soon after its launch due to the pandemic.

Jess’ new endeavour follows 18 years of dedicated service at The Green Frog, where she proved popular amongst its customers.
After the announcement, Jess took to the takeaway van Facebook page to write an emotional goodbye to all the customers she got to know over the years.

She wrote: “Well, I never thought I’d ever be writing this status, to be honest, and I’m genuinely gutted to have to write this.
“If you know me, you know The Green Frog was my life, for a very long time – 18 years.
“I’ve made so many amazing happy memories with a group of special people, the people I’ve worked with, and the people I’ve worked for.”
