A Preston man has been jailed for driving while disqualified and perverting the course of justice.
AdvertisementBack in December 2020, Steven Lee’s Mercedes convertible was recorded driving at excess speed on Woodplumpton Lane in Broughton.
When he received the speeding ticket in the post Steven, 36, initially claimed that it was one of his employees driving the car.
Earlier this year Steven eventually pleaded guilty.
On Wednesday (23 March) he was sentenced at Preston Crown Court to four months imprisonment for driving while disqualified and six months imprisonment for perverting the course of justice, which will run concurrently.

Steven was also disqualified from driving for a further two years and three months, and will be required to take an extended re-test before driving again.
A Preston Police spokesperson said: “Remember folks – always drive responsibly and don’t drive at all if you’re banned.
“And make sure you’re truthful when replying to the request for driver information, because we will find out and you’ll face more serious charges when we do.”
