The NHS vaccination bus will be situated on the Tesco Extra car park in Leyland on Friday 11 February and Saturday 12 February from 10am to 4pm.

The bus will be offering first dose, second dose, and booster Pfizer vaccinations to anyone over the age of 12 , with no appointment necessary.

Anyone who is still waiting for a jab is urged to come forward.

Councillor Paul Foster, Leader of South Ribble Borough Council, said: “Covid-19 is still here, and we all need to make sure we are fully vaccinated to ensure our best defence against the disease.

“If you haven’t yet had a jab or are needing your second or booster dose, please do not delay. The NHS team and vaccination bus will be available on Friday and Saturday and no appointment is necessary so please come along and get your jab.”

The Covid-19 vaccines are the best way to protect yourself and others.

Research has shown the vaccines help:

  • reduce your risk of getting seriously ill or dying from Covid-19
  • reduce your risk of catching or spreading Covid-19
  • protect against Covid-19 variants

Sakthi Karunanithi, Lancashire County Council’s Director for Public Health, said: “The Covid-19 vaccines are safe and effective and remain our best line of defence against Covid-19.

“We know that having a booster significantly increases protection against the Omicron variant, so getting your first or second dose means you are one step closer to having this extra protection.

“It is never too late to come forward so please come along to the vaccination bus in Leyland and grab a jab.”
