South Ribble Borough Council has warned residents to be mindful of calls from individuals posing as council workers.
AdvertisementThey were recently made aware of an incident involving a person contacted by an individual pretending to represent the council, who asked for payment and stated they had a warrant for the recipient’s arrest.

South Ribble Borough Council reminded residents that they are not responsible and to be mindful of the situation when talking to people over the phone.
There will be instances when the council does call residents, but there are ways to validate officers.

They reminded residents that council representatives will always have photo identification with them.
