Extra police officers are set to join Lancashire Police in Spring 2022 as part of a dedicated Rape and Serious Sexual Offences Team.
The 40 extra officers will significantly increase the number of officers tackling this type of crime, joining existing officers across Preston and Lancashire to bring offenders to justice and improve outcomes for victims.
The new posts will be created thanks to the Police Uplift Programme as well as additional funding raised through the precept, the policing element of council tax.
