Investigation continues into fire at two Penwortham homes

Dozens of firefighters attended a fire at the ground floor of two properties in Penwortham.


Crews were called out at 12.22am on Saturday (26 February) with five fire engines from Penwortham, Preston and Bamber Bridge attending.

Firefighters wearing breathing apparatus used three hose reels and a ventilation unit to combat the fire in Mark Close off Leyland Road – between Penwortham and Lostock Hall.

No casualties were reported and several neighbouring properties were briefly evacuated at the time.

An investigation into the cause of the fire is now underway.
