A solicitor from Fulwood is raising money throughout 2022 by completing a 2,022km running and walking challenge.
Jennie Barnes hopes to raise £2,022 over the year through the challenge for Rosemere Cancer Foundation.
She plans to run an average of 5km most days, while taking on longer walks of 22km every second and fifth weekend, which she hopes friends and family will join her on.

Jennie has taken on other fundraising challenges for Rosemere Cancer Foundation and other local charities in the past.
She said: “In 2013, I ran a charity 10km. In 2016, I did a half marathon and in 2019, a full marathon, so when it came to the New Year, I realised it was time for another charity challenge to keep with the every three years sequence.
“As each challenge had topped the other, I had to come up with something better than a marathon so decided to make it a 2,022km – 1,256.4 miles – effort.
“I do run and I enjoy hiking so am looking forward to getting outside more, and I have built rest days into the challenge schedule so I am quite hopeful I can achieve the distance.
“My worry is finding the time throughout all year, but the whole point is to challenge myself to raise funds for such a worthy cause!”
