Preston snow and ice warning updated to start Thursday

Tomorrow (Thursday 6 January) is set to bring snow and ice, a little earlier than first predicted.

From 8pm tomorrow to 11am on Friday, 7 January, there will be frequent sleet, hail and snow showers, which may lead to some disruption to travel.

The Met Office have warned that some roads and railways likely to be affected with longer journey times by road, bus and train services.

There will probably some icy patches on some untreated roads, pavements and cycle paths.

Some brief power outages are possible with a risk of isolated lightning strikes.

Some injuries may be sustained from slips and falls on icy surfaces.
