Police have returned an elderly woman to her care home after finding her ‘lost and confused in her slippers’ in Leyland’s Worden Park.
This morning (Tuesday 25 January), a concerned resident contacted South Ribble Police to inform them that the woman was wandering around Worden Park.
PC Walker and PCSO Anson attended the scene and found the woman in The Folley Cafe, where kindhearted staff had given her a hat and some warm drinks, with a kind member of the public offering up her gloves.

In a Facebook post, PC Walker said: “The lady suffered from dementia, but we eventually found out that she had managed to escape from her care home and was returned to the much-relieved staff.
“PCSO Anson even managed to get a great big ‘nan’ hug off her! It was great to see the community looking out for such a vulnerable person.
“She even got a police coat to keep her warm.”
