St Michael’s Church will this February host international pianist Jill Crossland for an afternoon of classical music.
On Sunday 13 February, the first piano recital is taking place on the Boesendorfer piano since its move to St Michael’s and All Angels, Ashton-on-Ribble.
International pianist Jill Crossland’s programme includes her trademark, Bach, with works by Scarlatti and some of Schubert’s most popular pieces.

Churchwarden Stephen Davies said: ‘We are excited to bring back live music after the lockdown and hope young learners will come and be encouraged to keep on practising.
“They will be encouraged to talk about their musical experiences over refreshments.”
Jill has appeared regularly in London at the Wigmore Hall and South Bank and has performed in the Bridgewater Hall, Vienna Musikverein, Vienna Konzerthaus, Leipzig Gewandhaus, and Sage Gateshead.

Jill’s recordings include the Bach Goldberg Variations on Warner Classics and the complete Bach 48 Preludes and
Fugues on Signum Classics, which have received critical acclaim.
Jill is known for her imaginative and passionate interpretations of the classical repertoire, combining virtuosity, precision and depth.
The recital will take place on Sunday 13 February at 3pm. Tickets are £10 for adults and £5 for those under 16 and students.
