A concerned Ribbleton resident contacted Blog Preston regarding power cuts in Ribbleton, which have been happening since Saturday, December 4.
The resident is concerned that many of the people in the area are pensioners who keep having to cope without lighting or heating.
They went onto say temporary fixes keep happening, but it’s gone off a total of 11 times for up to five hours at a time.
A spokesperson for Electricity North West said: “We’re aware there have been intermittent faults on an underground power cable affecting properties in Ribbleton.
“To help locate the fault, our engineers have installed sophisticated monitoring equipment in the local electricity substation.
“These types of faults are frustrating for everyone as they result in multiple short power cuts but the exact location of the fault on the underground cable cannot easily be identified.
“If anyone needs any more information during a power cut, they can follow Electricity North West on Twitter or Facebook for updates, or call us free on 105 and to learn more about intermittent faults on the power network, you can watch a helpful video here.”
