St David’s Church and community hall in Eldon Street is set to be demolished to make way for a new supported living development.

An application from Progress Housing Association Ltd was approved at a Preston City Council Planning Committee on Thursday 2 December.

The development will see 14 units for independent living created, with communal areas and a secure outdoor space. Each of the 14 flats will have one bedroom.

Parking plans have been changed since the initial submission, to address concerns raised by County Highways. Instead of on-street parking bays, there will be four off-street parking spaces accessed from Inkerman Street.

The agent for the development is Studio John Bridge Ltd.
