Rundown of the New Year weather in Preston

It was thought that the New Year in Preston was going to be welcomed in with rain and flooding.

However since the flood alert has now been removed we thought we could give a rundown of what the bank holiday weekend in Preston is going to look like.

Tonight, New Years Eve, is looking like it is going to stay cloudy, but dry. It will be pretty chilly so make sure to take a coat out to any celebrations you’re attending!

New Years Day will continue to be cloudy, however by lunchtime on the first day of 2022 there will be sunny spells.

It will also be unseasonably mild for most of the day.

There will be a slight change in the weather come Sunday. It will continue to be cloudy with heavy showers in the afternoon and running through into the evening.

Bank Holiday Monday will be sunny spells but continue the cloudy start to the year. There is potential for light rain in the afternoon.

Tuesday will be sunny and clear, but with a potential drop in temperature.
