Lancashire Constabulary has honoured an Avenham PCSO who has retired after serving for 14 years.
PCSO Barbara Gornall hung up her bicycle helmet for the final time yesterday (Sunday 5 December) as she headed off to retirement ahead of her 69th birthday next year.

Chief Inspector Azz Khan of Preston Police said: “Barbara has been a familiar sight in the Avenham area for the last fourteen years.
“Her hard work has been evident in building bridges with the local community, and she will be dearly missed.
“On behalf of Lancashire Police, I want to pass on our thanks for her years of service and wish her all the best for her retirement.”

In a Facebook post, Preston Police said: “Barbara, from all of your friends and colleagues at Preston and beyond, thank you for your compassionate and effective service for the people of Lancashire and Lancashire Constabulary.
“You’ll be missed, and we hope you have a happy and healthy retirement!”
