A planning application has been submitted for a new Aldi at Preston Docks.
The store would be located at the site of The Trident Centre, a former headquarters of a holiday company and call centre that developers wish to knock down to build two retail units.
While one of the retails units would be occupied by Aldi, the other is expected to be a variety discount store.
Plans for the new 4,155 sq m building in Port Way include parking spaces for 250 cars and 11 motorcycles, plus 10 disability spaces and 28 for cycles.
The new Aldi would be open from 8am to 10pm from Monday to Saturday, and 9am to 6pm on Sundays and bank holidays. The store would create 100 jobs.

The site has been vacant since 2019.
If this application is approved it would be Preston’s fifth Aldi store with a sixth one planned for Cottam.
The planning application (06/2021/1510) can be viewed on the Preston City Council website.
