A Nightingale badge has been stolen in a Fulwood house burglary over the Christmas period.

Police are appealing for help to find the badge, which is recognised worldwide as a symbol of nursing excellence.

A spokesperson for Preston Police said: “The badge is given to nurses who qualify from St Thomas’ Hospital and bears an image of Florence Nightingale.

“It is considered quite an uncommon item within Lancashire and is also engraved with the owners name.”

Also stolen in the burglary was a 9ct gold brooch and ring.

Anyone with information on the whereabouts of the property should ring 101 quoting LC-20211228-0352. Alternatively information can be shared anonymously via Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
