A new care home is to be built on land off Lightfoot Green Lane in Fulwood.
AdvertisementThe development will have 60 bedrooms set over two and three storeys, and a roof garden.
Facilities will include a coffee and library area, hairdressers, cinema rooms, an IT/games room, hobbies rooms and sensory hubs.
The site is surrounded by Preston Grasshoppers RFC to the north, Hulton House Residential Care Home to the east, Lightfoot Lane to the south, and Fulwood Amateurs FC to the west.
The care home itself will be centrally located within the 0.37 hectare site, with landscaping and planting around the edges. There will be 20 car park spaces and ten bicycle spaces.
The care home will employ 30 full-time members of staff, who will work in shift patterns over each 24-hour period.
The Preston City Council Planning Committee approved the application on Thursday 2 December.
