Cottam’s annual Santa Parade delighted residents as they gathered on the streets to soak up the festive spirit.
AdvertisementOn Sunday 19 December, Santa and his helpers set off from Hayfield Park at 5pm down Hoyles Lane and along Cottam Way before heading to the Tippings’ Christmas lights.
The parade proceeded to Cottam Community Hall and had a final stop at the Ancient Oak at around 7pm.

The lights will stay lit with thousands of fairy lights and sparkling displays until the 12th Night (Wednesday 5 January) to raise funds for four local charities.
The charities are Rosemere Cancer Foundation, Derian House Children’s Hospice, Headway Central Lancashire and the Jordan Grant 18 Memorial Fund (CRY – Cardiac Risk in the Young).
Over the last decade, visitors to the lights – which take dad Mark, mum Nicola and sons Sam, Joe, and Isaac weeks to organise – have donated £107,596.15 alongside online supporters.
The parade is organised by the Tippings and Cottam Community Association, which was responsible for last year’s Let’s Make Cottam Sparkle campaign.
The final total raised by the Tippings’ lights will be announced when the lights are switched off.
