The annual Galloway’s Santa Dash this year saw hula hooping runners raise over £1,500 for the blind and partially sighted.
AdvertisementAmongst the line-up were members of Up Fit Hoop Troop, who hula hooped the 3k route along Liverpool Road in Penwortham with two young reindeer.
Starting the race was David Bennett, Mayor of Penwortham Town Council. The Mayor said it was fantastic to be back this year to see the community unite to support the charity.

Georgia Murphy, Corporate and Community Coordinator at sight loss charity Galloway’s, said: “We had a brilliant day with all our Santas, and it was great to see everyone turn out to show their support for us.
“We are really proud of the community who rallied around to join us and raise £1,577. We recognised several faces from our dash in 2019, so it was lovely to see them again, as well as welcome new faces.
“There was a great camaraderie during the event as everyone cheered each other on and joined in the spirit of things. The runners did incredibly well, and we are grateful to them for taking part to raise money for people with sight loss.
“We want to say a big thank you to everyone who joined us and to Penwortham Town Council for once again supporting us.”
