A new family-run Indian deli has opened in the city centre in the old Thorntons premises.
Eat Indian on Fishergate offers chilled Indian food to heat and eat, with all food suitable for freezing or a meal on the day.
The owners have premises in Lancaster and aim to expand with more sites in the future.

On their website, Eat Indian said: “We have a wealth of experience when it comes to the catering industry.
“We are very proud of the care and attention to detail when it comes to making food for our customers. We want to ensure that they savour every mouthful.
“When it comes to traditional Indian food, we know what we’re doing.”

The deli started in Mumbai in the 1960s with a professionally trained chef.
The lunchtime menu includes beef, chicken and veggie burgers and wraps, including a chutney chip butty with masala fries in a garlic naan, tikka, spiced donner, and the Full Monty – a wrap including tandoori tikka, donner, peri chicken and fries.
