Chorley residents will this Friday enjoy an ice rink, rides and activities at a popular Christmas event.
Winter Wonderland will take place in Chorley town centre, on Cleveland Street, from 10 December until 4 January, with Betty’s Tipis providing festive food and drinks.
Visitors can use the ice rink, and children can ride the teacups, horse or chairs rides, play hook-a-duck and experience the Alpine Hotel Fun House.

Councillor Peter Wilson, Deputy Leader of Chorley Council, said: “We’re looking forward to providing some festive fun in Chorley town centre for everyone to enjoy.
“The Winter Wonderland is always popular and an ideal location for visitors. Whether you’re making a day of it combined with some Christmas shopping, having a family day out or an evening of festive food and drink at Betty’s Tipis with colleagues or friends, there’s something to suit everyone.”
Free parking is available in Chorley town centre until 24 December, with the usual three hours free on the long stay car park. Short stay car parks now offer free parking (maximum stay limit), as long as visitors obtain an arrival ticket.

During the event, organised by Chorley Council and sponsored by Market Walk, festive food and drink, including mulled wine, German sausage hot dogs, pizzas and a selection of meals from Betty’s Tipi’s or barista coffee and tea are available.
The attraction will be open from 10 December to 4 January – every day except Christmas Day.
The ice rink is £6 per skate session or £20 for a family of four (two adults and two children), with payment on entry (cash only). Ice skates and other equipment are provided.

Unless visitors are part of a school or community group, there is no need to pre-book.
There will also be cub club sessions for children three-seven years old, priced at £3 per child and £3 for accompanying adults (maximum two adults per family at the discounted rate).
Volunteers who are part of the Tempo Time Credit scheme can exchange their credits for ice skating sessions (at selected times only) in recognition of the work that they undertake in the community.
