£420,000 is available to help Preston people who have been financially impacted during the Covid-19 pandemic.

The Household Support Fund has been received from the Department for Work and Pensions via Lancashire County Council.
The Chief Executive at Preston City Council, Adrian Phillips, accepted the funding under his delegated powers in a Civil Emergency, so that it be can be used before the spending deadline of 31 March 2022.

Mr Phillips said: “Coping through the pandemic has been really difficult for many, and the funding received ensures the help goes to those families in Preston who really need it. We know it has helped make a big difference at a very challenging time.
“The fund is there to help those who do not have enough resources to meet their short term needs this winter and can assist with essential items.”
