Preston City Council have taken to social media to let the community know about free car parking over the Christmas period.

The free parking will be at the following car parks:

• Penny Street
• Trinity Square
• Tenterfield Street

This is to encourage residents and people from further afield to do some Christmas shopping in Preston.

The car parks are free from 3pm on the following dates:

• Saturday 20 November (Christmas lights switch on)
• Wednesday 1- Friday 3 December
• Wednesday 8 – Friday 10 December
• Wednesday 15 – Friday 17 December

The car parks are free all day on the following dates:

• Sunday 5 December
• Sunday 12 December
• Sunday 19 December
• Monday 20 – Thursday 23 December

Please note: The free parking periods are from the date and time shown until midnight the same day.
