Throughout the night (Monday, November 29) Preston Police’s Immediate Response team were on duty performing pro-active work and responding to reports of ongoing emergencies.
At 4.14am (Tuesday, November 30) there was a report of three masked males in the Fulwood Row area.
They were pushing a number of expensive bicycles which raised suspicion.

The males fled from officers patrolling the scene immediately, and they abandoned four bicycles at the roadside which officers were able to secure.
Given the reluctance of the males to speak to officers, it is suspected that the bicycles were stolen from a local resident or from multiple locations throughout the night.
Police took to social media to launch an appeal. It says: “We are appealing for Preston residents, particularly in the Brookfield and Fulwood areas, to ensure their sheds and garages remain secure, and that they have not had any unwelcome visitors overnight.
“This incident is a reminder to all residents to ensure that they are taking reasonable steps to secure and protect their property.”
Preston residents were grateful to the police for their hard work.
Dawn Yates commented: “This always happens at Christmas time! Thank you Preston police.”
