Light Up Leyland 2021 to bring festive cheer to the community

On Friday 26 November, Leyland Cross Christmas Lights Switch On is set to take place, kicking off Leyland’s festivities.

The event will begin at 5pm and finish at 6.45pm.

There will be carol singing and a countdown to the Christmas lights, which will be followed by free refreshments and Mince Pies at St Andrews Church.

This mini event is the perfect warm up event for the following days festivities.

On Saturday 27 November, the main event is set to take place. Coronation Street’s Alan Halsall (aka Tyrone Dobbs) will be turning on the Christmas lights.

The event will take place on Hough Lane begins at 11.30am and finishes at 6.30pm.

There will be lots of activities and fun for all the family including:

  • Live music and entertainment
  • Fairground
  • Stalls
  • Street food
  • Drinks
  • Children’s activities
  • Santa’s Grotto.

Stalls and fairground rides will be open from 11.30am while our live on-stage entertainment will commence at 1.30pm to get attendees in the mood to ‘Light Up Leyland’ at 5.30pm.
