A series of roadshows will allow Preston residents to have their say on the New Hospitals Programme.

In October, the roadshow will visit Preston Flag Market, Preston Bus Station and Preston College. It will also attend locations in Chorley, Lancaster, Barrow-in-Furness and Kendal.

Launched by Healthwatch Together, the events serve communities across Lancashire and South Cumbria, allowing local people to discover more about the programme.

Healthwatch said it is the independent national champion for people who use health and social care services, focusing on those who find it hardest to be heard. They said the service finds out what matters to people and makes sure their views shape the support they need.

There is a Healthwatch in every area of England, with the New Hospitals Programme working with the teams serving Blackpool, Blackburn and Darwen, Lancashire and South Cumbria. Collectively, the group is known as Healthwatch Together.

The events are an opportunity for local people to meet Healthwatch representatives face-to-face to find out more about the New Hospitals Programme, ask questions and put forward their ideas and opinions.

One discussion point at each event will be on the long list of possible solutions for hospital facilities in Preston, Lancaster and Barrow-In-Furness.

HARRI (Health Advice Recovery Resilience Information) is the health engagement vehicle for Lancashire and South Cumbria NHS Foundation Trust

The vehicle is used to travel across Lancashire and South Cumbria to talk with local communities and individuals.
