Four play areas in Preston are set for upgrades.
Preston City Council Cabinet Member for Health and Wellbeing Jennifer Mein has approved the work to Oxheys Recreation Area in Plungington, Haslam Park in Ashton-on-Ribble, Sherwood Park and South Drive Park in Fulwood.
Oxheys will see improvements to safety surfacing costing £3,500 while play equipment at Haslam Park will be painted for the cost of £7,045.

At Sherwood Park, railings and all play equipment will be painted, and existing rubber tiles will be covered with synthetic sand filled carpet for £8,640.
Railings and play equipment will also be painted at South Drive Park, costing £5,480.
This means that a total of £24,665 will be put into improving local parks.
