CCTV shows man wanted in connection to train robbery between Preston and Chorley

The man wanted by British Transport Police

Police have released CCTV of a man wanted in connection to a robbery on a train between Preston and Chorley.

At around 5.30am on Tuesday 31 August, the victim and a man boarded a train at Preston Railway Station.

The victim took a seat onboard the service. A short while later, the man sat next to him and told him he had a machete and that he would use it if the victim did not comply.

He then asked the victim to hand over his bank cards and PIN numbers, which he did through fear.

Both the man and the victim got off the train at Chorley Railway Station.

Officers believe the man in the CCTV images may have information, which could help their investigation.

Members of the public that recognise him or have any information should contact British Transport Police by texting 61016 or calling 0800 40 50 40, quoting reference 51 of 31/08/21.
