This morning (Friday 10 September) people waited in anticipation for the Wallace and Gromit bench to be unveiled.

Based on the cheese-loving inventor and his loyal companion as they appeared in The Wrong Trousers, the bench sculpture has been given pride of place outside Preston Markets, close to the entrance on Orchard Street.

Nick Park, Prestonian creator of Wallace and Gromit looked thrilled to be at the bench this morning.

The bench was unveiled to the media at 10am.
