Yellow warning for rain today as heavy showers set to batter Preston and Lancashire

The Met Office have issued a yellow warning for rain in Preston and Lancashire today.

The heavy downpours are set to begin around 12pm and will last until 9pm tonight (Wednesday, 4 August).

Heavy showers will develop, bringing possible travel disruption and flooding in a few areas.

The Met office have advised to plan journeys as spray and flooding may make them take longer, and bus and train services may be affected.

Flooding of homes and businesses is also possible, and there may be some interruption to power supplies and other services.
