Debbi Lander, Bid Director of Lancashire 2025 said: “Having formally entered the competition to host UK City of Culture 2025 and received a great show of support from the people of Lancashire, we want to see Lancashire win the UK City of Culture competition.

“It is a huge accolade and Lancashire 2025 now invites everyone to officially ‘sign the bid.’

“We’ve been filming people, the length and breadth of the county, who share our passion for culture and the role of culture in harnessing Lancashire’s talents, assets and aptitude for reinvention – to craft a new and inclusive identity as the ‘Virtual City of Lancashire’.

“A city of creative citizens in which an eclectic collection of places and communities can reimagine the alternative futures and vibrant identities that might yet be wrought from its proud heritage of influence, innovation and resilience.

“The resulting short taster of that film is issued today, to inspire and encourage as many people as possible to sign the bid at Lancashire2025.com.

“We invite you to share this video and sign the bid by adding your own name to our roll-call.  We believe that together we will win the competition for Lancashire and celebrate City of Culture right here in 2025.”
