Pensioner in hospital after three-vehicle crash on Eastway in Fulwood

A woman in her 70s has been hospitalised following a three-car road accident on Fulwood’s Eastway.

On 12 August, at 11.26, two fire engines from Penwortham and Fulwood attended the road traffic collision on Eastway in Fulwood, Preston.

During the incident, which involved three vehicles, firefighters freed one casualty from their vehicle, thought to be the woman in her 70s, and conveyed them to hospital by ambulance.

At this time, no details about the woman’s injuries have been released.

The crews used Holmatro cutting equipment and were detained for one and a half hours.

Preston Police closed Eastway from Anderton Way to Watling Street Road, warning the public to avoid the area and use an alternative route if possible. The road has now been reopened.
