Meadow Street closed as person rescued by fire services

Meadow Street in Deepdale has been closed by Lancashire Fire and Rescue for them to rescue a person.

Emergency services were called to the scene at 9.25am and two fire engines, police and the North West Ambulance Service were in attendance.

They used an aerial ladder platform from Preston, as well as an Urban Search and Rescue (USAR) rope rescue team from Chorley to rescue the person.

The incident involved one casualty and reports indicate a pub in the Deepdale street had collapsed.

Firefighters used a tripod, air bags, and a hoist system at this incident. They also administered first aid.

North West Ambulance Service (NWAS) personnel monitored the casualty. Crews currently remain in attendance.
