The Longton Post Office has been approved to move to a new location at the Spar on Liverpool Road following public consultation.
Longton Post Office will continue to operate as a local-style branch in the new location with services including bill payment, cash withdrawals and foreign currency, postage, home shopping collections and returns.
The current branch will close on Tuesday 5 October at 5.30pm. The new branch will open on Friday 8 October at 8.30am.

During transfer of the branch customers requiring Post Office facilities may use any convenient Post Office service, including:
⦁ Walmer Bridge Post Office, 108 Liverpool Old Road, Walmer Bridge, PR4 5GE
⦁ Penwortham Hill Post Office, 65 Liverpool Road, Penwortham, PR1 9XD
Our current operator is carrying out major work at the premises that they own next door but one to the current Post Office. Extra space is being added to incorporate a Post Office and increased retail range under one roof.

Post Office services will be provided from two serving points as part of the retail counter of the convenience store.
The new branch is located approximately 35 metres away from the current branch, and there is roadside parking nearby for the convenience of customers.
The Post Office opening hours will remain the same, Monday – Friday: 8.30am – 5.30pm; Saturday 9am – 12.30pm.

A wide range of products and services will still be available.
Access at the new location will be level with a wide push button assisted door at the entrance via a ramp or steps with a handrail.
