Fulwood Academy students received their GCSE results yesterday to ‘mark the end of an extraordinary two years’.
Among those smiling were Livsharan Kaur, who achieved an impressive 9 in Maths and English, four 8s and two 7s.
Livsharan returned to the school after completing her studies earlier this year and has been heavily involved in mentoring, supporting, and working with other students as part of the Fulwood Academy apprenticeship programme.
She was also involved in an academy initiative to deliver food parcels to the community.

Lilly Dixon was another student who was on cloud nine after she secured a host of top grades.
Mark Tudor, Vice Principal, said: “While it is impossible to compare these results with any other, it is important to stress that our students have done all that has been asked of them, and more, over the last two years.
“In the face of the challenges posed by the pandemic, they have worked relentlessly to achieve amazing GCSE results. These results once again show that this school is on a very exciting trajectory.
“The last year has been tough on us all, but the progress that our students and wider school have made at every level has been incredible. Collectively we are moving forward with pace and purpose, and we look forward to furthering our celebrations when our Ofsted report is released in September.

“This is a community effort. Our students, staff and, crucially, our parents have come together so well during the pandemic to support our young people.
“The smiling faces that we have seen are testament not just to the talents, skills and determination of our students, but a sign of what we can achieve by working together.
“We are celebrating amazing results for extraordinary students who have been through an extraordinary two years.”
