Extension plans for Barton Manor Hotel set to be approved

A planning application add a front extension to the Barton Manor Hotel, formerly the Barton Grange Hotel, Garstang Road are set for approval this week.

Plans include a three-story extension to the front of existing hotel to provide new entrance/lobby, function room and 50 hotel rooms with external terrace, landscaping and alterations to the car park.

The development would follow the demolition of a detached building.

Plans are set to be approved with conditions including a three year time limit.

The proposed extension would be formed from 4 “cubes” measuring 12m wide, 12m deep and 12m high, spanning the front elevation, linked by a glazed walkway/external seating area and circulation spaces.

One cube would form the primary entrance to the hotel complex, with the remaining three cubes providing the additional hotel accommodation.

An official decision will be made Thursday 5 August.
