Creativity Works Preston (CWP) is hosting an opportunity for individuals to travel to Cantabria (North of Spain) as part of a vocational training experience.

Creativity Works Preston is a registered charity that was established to meet the need of young people not in
employment, education or training.

CWP provides a supportive and nurturing environment for young people to continue education and acquire the necessary skills in readiness for secure, sustained and gainful employment.

Home and Away is an immersive working and living experience where participants will be able to gain cultural knowledge and develop their work and personal skills.

  • Maintenance
  • Chef assistant
  • Social care

The project is set to run for three weeks, from 1 to 23 September 2021. All major costs are covered by the scheme, including flights from the UK, on site accommodation and on site food.

In addition, participants will receive €70 a week spending money.

The project is organised by Permacultura Cantabria and Ramales de la Victoria Municipalities, in association with Creativity Works Preston.

The opportunity is available to anyone aged 18+ who is on or has just finished a vocational training programme.

CWP CEO Steve Egan said: “This is a fantastic opportunity to put into practice skills people may have learned in the classroom. It is open to any person aged 18+ who has recently completed an education programme.

“We recognise that given the current Covid situation people have a lot of concerns around travel. However, travel to Spain is permitted and any tests that are required will be covered through the grant. We will be holding an information day on Thursday 12 August at 11am at the CWP centre where we will be able to answer any questions people may have.”
