South Ribble Police are appealing for witnesses following a collision in Penwortham.
Police were called around 4pm yesterday (Monday, July 5) to a report of an accident involving two vehicles in Penwortham Way.
A Honda Civic car and Volkswagen Polo car had been involved in a collision.
The driver of the Honda, a 41-year-old woman from Penwortham, suffered serious injuries and was taken to Royal Preston Hospital for treatment.
She is in a stable condition.

The driver of the Volkswagen, an 18-year-old man from Penwortham, suffered minor injuries and was taken to Royal Preston Hospital for treatment.
Police are appealing for anyone who witnessed the collision to come forward.
Sgt Michael Higginson, of Lancashire Police’s Tactical Operations, said: “We are appealing for witnesses following a serious road traffic collision.
“If you can help with our investigation and saw what happened, please contact us immediately.”
