Travellers occupying land in Haslam Park have been asked to move on

An anonymous source contacted Blog Preston to detail disturbance in Haslam Park on Tuesday, July 6.

They noted that the gate was unlocked, and there were a number of vans and caravans parked on land which would usually be unoccupied.

Blog Preston contacted Preston City Council for comment.

Councillor Robert Boswell, Cabinet Member for Environment and Community Safety at Preston City Council, said: “We are aware that a group of Travellers have set up camp on Haslam Park having gained access to the site through the security barrier.

“Officers from the council have visited the site to make contact with the group and we have commenced the process to remove the group from the site.

“Any waste left behind will be cleared when they have moved on.”
